Seasoned Antioxidant Tofu Steaks



These antioxidant-rich tofu steaks are marinated in a flavorful blend of tamari, balsamic vinegar, and spices, then baked to perfection. They make a delicious and nutritious main dish that's perfect for a plant-based meal.

Ingredients:

  • 2 blocks firm tofu
  • 3 tablespoons tamari sauce
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions:

Press tofu blocks to remove excess moisture

In a small bowl, mix tamari sauce, balsamic vinegar, maple syrup, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and sea salt to make marinade

Slice tofu into steaks and place in a shallow dish

Pour marinade over tofu steaks, ensuring they are evenly coated

Let marinate for at least 30 minutes

Preheat oven to 400F 200C

Transfer tofu steaks onto a lined baking sheet

Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until tofu is golden and slightly crispy

Sprinkle sesame seeds over tofu steaks, if desired, during the last few minutes of baking

Garnish with chopped parsley before serving
